Welcome to the July issue of Cotswold Style. We all like to think that we’re doing it all, but our Real Life interview this month really epitomises ‘living life to the full’. Our exclusive interview with Dr Dawn Harper, who will be recognised by many as a resident doctor on Channel 4’s ‘Embarrassing Bodies’, manages to juggle her busy TV career with being a part time GP at Cheltenham’s Nuffield Hospital as well as writing, public speaking, charity work and life as a wife and mother to three children. Her other TV credits also include programmes on ITV1, UKTV, Five, ITV1, Radio 4 and Radio 1! “If you had said to me 10 years ago that I would be working on prime-time TV, I would have laughed you out of court,” says Dawn. Now touring, ‘Yasmine – a musical’ is based on the life of living legend Yasmine Smart, granddaughter of Billy Smart. Playing herself in the show, Yasmine has also trained all seven of the new horses that have been bought for the production. Read More >> |

There’s a beauty and serenity about the Cotswold village of Broadway that seems to melt away the modern world, like a child’s summer ice cream that’s been too long in a warm hand. The village has a stunning sense of calm and innocence that’s easily attributable. It’s all got to do with history and a custodial community that truly cares about the wonderful village they live in. If Broadway were a car, you’d park right out on the front drive, make sure it gleams and show it off to the neighbours. And that’s exactly what they do. The village of Broadway has a history dating back to the 16th century and is quite often referred to as the ‘Jewel of the Cotswolds’. Read More >> |
